Samuel Osei Kuffour was born on 3 September 1976 and played as a centre-back, best known for twelve years at Bayern Munich from 1993 to 2005.
He made close to 250 official appearances for the club and won fourteen honours there, including six Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League. He played for Ghana at the 2006 World Cup and in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
