Family demands dead baby from hospital authorities
" border="0" align="left" class="photo" hspace="10" style="float:left;"/> The family of a day’s old baby who died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi is demanding the whereabouts of their baby from the hospital authorities.

According to the family, it has still not set eyes on the dead baby to prove the claims from the doctors since the incident happened.

Narrating the incident to Citi News, an Uncle to the deceased baby, Abdul Rahman Mohammed stated that the family after going through the bodies at the mortuary could not find the baby at the mortuary.

“When we couldn’t find the baby, we were told that maybe the baby was taken by the new cleaner and has been thrown away,”he added.

In that regard, he stated that the hospital should produce the baby as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Hospital authorities have forwarded the matter to the Police for investigation.

The Head of Public Relations at the Hospital, Kwame Frimpong said a cleaner in charge at the Hospital is undergoing further interrogation.

“It was established that the baby was dead upon delivery so there is no doubt with regards to that. We have looked through all the documentations and the woman actually confirmed that the baby was born dead. What we are yet to establish is where the body was taken.

The cleaner who supposedly took the body away is being questioned at the moment. We will hand it to the police to conduct further investigations into the matter,” Mr. Frimpong said
