State files defense in Martin Amidu ex gratia suit
The state on November, 4th 2013 opened its defense in the suit brought against it by Mr. Martin Amidu. The move now allows for the case to travel the full and normal course.
The former Attorney General has been since served with the state's defense and is expected to file a response.
He had earlier applied for an interim judgement but this was dismissed by Justice Ofori Attah in the High Court on Thursday.
Mr. Amidu had sued the state over the non payment of his end of service benefit, rent allowance and salary arrears among others.
Martin A. B. K Amidu was relieved of his post as Attorney General and Minister of Justice in January 2012 in the wake of the Woyome scandal. A statement from the then Chief of Staff said Mr. Amidu was sacked for alleged misconduct.
